Our process…

After the initial consult appointment, Valerie will come to your home Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday between the hours of 10 am and 4 pm for 1-1.5-hour lessons to work with your dog on basic manners as well as behavior modification (jumping, barking, chewing, nipping). We provide video recaps and/or training handouts to help coach you through continuing your pet’s training.

There is no need for you to be home for the daily lessons, as Valerie will be focusing on your dog for those three days each week, and every dog will get outside time in their yard and/or neighborhood. Field trips to pet-friendly locations such as stores, restaurant patios, parks, etc. will ensure that your pet’s training can hold up around a variety of distractions if your pup is ready for the distractions.

At the end of the second week, after six lessons, you will meet with Valerie on Friday or Saturday for an hour for a transfer session to go over the training so that she can teach you how to work with your dog. Then you will have one follow-up lesson within two weeks of your program ending to work on any remaining questions.

This program is catered to your personal goals and each dog’s individual personality. Prices start at $1175 (travel fees may apply), and we require a $300 deposit to secure your spot.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Chloe is a 4 months old miniature dachshund and a full of energy dog. Valerie was great with her, with simple commands we were able to change some bad behaviors and we started crate training. Chloe and us had fun while learning from Valerie. We really recommend Smarty Paws Dog Training as it improved our relationship with our pet.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We’ve had such a wonderful experience with Smarty Paws! From the very first session, it was clear that she brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to her training. Every lesson was well-paced and thoughtfully tailored to our dog’s needs and our family’s lifestyle.

She took the time to explain not just what to do, but *why*—which made it so much easier for us to reinforce positive habits at home. We’ve already seen growth in our dog’s behavior, confidence, and focus. Walks are calmer, commands are followed more consistently, and our whole family feels more connected to our pup.

We highly recommend Smarty Paws for anyone looking for a patient, skilled, and genuinely caring trainer!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I learned a lot about training my puppy and positive reinforcement. I wanted to work with potty training a little more, but I realize it is different than a command and takes time. We did get some good pointers and my puppy ans me learned a lot of useful things.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I enjoyed watching our little Bella grow and learn during her basic training right at home! It was awesome to see her progress at her own pace. Now, she sits and stays on her mat when we go out in public and listens to all the basic commands! I absolutely recommend Smarty Paws Dog Training to every puppy owner—it's been a fantastic experience!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our experience with Valerie was amazing! She was quick in our initial inquiry, worked with my busy work schedule, and helped me learn how to teach my puppy important skills to keep him safe and learn obedience. She was always exceptionally kind, came to my home for all the lessons, modeled the lessons, guided me through practice, then let me go with a plan to work through during the week until our next session. In 4 short weeks our pup learned to sit, walk a leash, focus his attention through distractions, lay on his bed and stay, leave things alone on the floor or drop it if it's in his mouth, stay at an open door, and even "play dead" - the one trick my children wanted him to learn. If you are looking to help your pup be the best he can be, look no further than Smarty Paws Dog Training!
